CN Becomes a Corporate Partner for Terrace 2010

Richard Miller, CN's general manager, Mountain Region, who is based in Prince George, said: “There is a strong link between sports, safe and healthy living, and a strong community spirit. That is why we are proud to support the 2010 BC Winter Games. Terrace and the province will benefit from an event that brings together passionate, focused young athletes.”

Kelly Mann, President and CEO of the BC Games Society, said, “The BC Winter Games play an essential role in developing our young athletes from communities throughout British Columbia and we are delighted that CN is helping make these Games happen.”

The 2010 BC Winter Games are scheduled to take place from March 4 – 7, 2010 in Terrace, showcasing over 1,900 participants from around the province in 16 events. The BC Winter Games are held every two years in communities throughout British Columbia and build community pride through celebrating sport and culture and by promoting active, healthy living.

CN employs almost 500 people in Northern British Columbia and nearly 2,100 in British Columbia.

Through the CN Stronger Communities Fund, the company supports health and safety programs for young people, transportation education, the CN Railroaders in the Community employee volunteer grant program, and United Way. As an Imagine Caring Company, CN is committed to contributing one per cent of pre-tax profit to registered, non-profit organizations in communities where our employees work and where we operate our business.

CN orders 40 new high-horsepower EMD locomotives
