This affects all trains operating on the Montreal-Toronto and Ottawa-Toronto routes for today and Tuesday morning.

As a result, VIA wishes to advise passengers that it anticipates delays of approximately two hours in total trip time for passengers travelling along these routes.

Due to the proximity of the derailment to VIA's station, as a precaution, Kingston Fire Department have closed access to the Kingston station at Princess/Counter streets. VIA is currently working on alternate arrangements for passengers departing/arriving at this location.

As a result of this disruption, VIA has also had to temporarily suspend new ticket sales on all trains on the affected routes.
